Journal Articles (APA)

Author’s name. (date). Title of the article. Journal Name, volume(issue), pages. DOI number.

Example:

Grady, J. S., Her, M., Moreno, G., Perez, C., & Yelinek, J. (2019). Emotions in storybooks: A comparison of storybooks that represent ethnic and racial groups in the United States. Psychology of Popular Media Culture, 8(3), 207–217. https://doi.org/10.1037/ppm0000185

*if a DOI doesn't exist, end the citation after the page numbers.

*If the journal article does not have a DOI and isn't from a database, but you found it online include the URL of the article at the end of the reference.

Citing an article from UpToDate/Cochrane

Morey, M. C. (2019). Physical activity and exercise in older adults. UpToDate. Retrieved July 22, 2019, from https://www.uptodate.com/contents/physical-activity-and-exercise-in-older-adults

Newspaper Articles (APA)

Author, A. A. (year, month day). Title of article. Title of newspaper, URL.

Example:

Carey, B. (2019, March 22). Can we get better at forgetting? The New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/health/memory-forgetting-psychology.html

No Author Example:

Parents must toughen fund-raiser rules. (1997, October 29). Telegraph Herald, pp. A6.

*if the article is from a database or a print copy of the paper include page numbers instead of a URL (pp. B1). 

Magazine Articles (APA)

*note: each line after the first line should be indented

Author, A. A. (year, month day). Title of article. Title of magazine, volume (issue), page number(s). DOI.

Example:

Schaefer, N. K., & Shapiro, B. (2019, September 6). New middle chapter in the story of human evolution. Science, 365(6457), 981–982. https://doi.org/10.1126/science.aay3550

*if the magazine article doesn't have a DOI and is from a database, end the reference after the page numbers. If it doesn't have a DOI and is from the internet, provide a URL at the end of the citation instead.

Company Profile/Industry Report (APA)

*note: each line after the first line should be indented

Report publisher. (year published). Report title [company profile]. Database name.

Example

MarketLine. (2015). Vestas Wind Systems A/S [company profile]. Business Source Premier.
