How to request materials

To get a scanned portion of a book:

If you don't need the entire book, we can send you a scan of a chapter or up to 10% of the book. You can request scans for books that UD owns and scans of books from other libraries using the same method. It usually takes 1-3 business days to receive the pdf.

To get a whole book that UD owns:

We can send books from the UD Library to you via mail. It typically takes 1-2 weeks to receive a book.

To get a whole book that UD doesn't own:

We can borrow print books from other libraries, if we don't already own them. These will also come to you by mail, so please allow 1-2 weeks for your book to arrive.

Tips for requesting materials

Keep an eye on your UD email.
If we need to communicate with you about your request, we will contact you via your UD email.

We cannot borrow e-books from other libraries, due to licensing restrictions set by the publishers.

We may be able to get a chapter via ILL, if the book was also published in print.

Be as specific as possible
When requesting scans from commentaries, make sure to specify the chapter and verse range that you need in the notes field on the ILL request form

When requesting scans from Lexicons or Dictionaries, make sure to specify which word or entry you need in the notes field on the ILL request form.
