What can my liaison librarian do for me & my students?

The library's liaison program ensures that each department has a librarian partner. The department's liaison librarian can help you:

*Teach students how to find information for particular assignments and clinical practice (Evidence-Based Medicine)
*Request materials you or students need for classes and research
*Plan effective research assignments
*Find information you need for your own research and teaching
*Learn how to effectively use library materials and tools

*Create customized library research guides for specific assignments, courses, and/or topics

Library Services for Faculty

Course Reserves
The library offers instructors both physical (in the library) and electronic reserves for classes. Instructors may request items to be kept available for students during the semester. See the library's reserves webpage for more details and information about how to request reserve items.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is a service the library provides free of charge to UD faculty, staff, and students (subsidized by the library). Our staff works with other libraries, including hospitals and research centers, to provide books, articles, and media that UD does not own by borrowing materials.

The interlibrary loan request form will autofill when accessed via an article database or WorldCat, a database of library materials worldwide. The form may also be completed from scratch. A UD network username and password is required to use the interlibrary loan system (ILLiad).
E-delivery
The library also provides e-delivery of print library materials. Library staff will scan up to 10% of a book or print periodical & provide it electronically via your ILLiad account. Paper request forms are also available at the Circulation & Reference Desks.
Office Delivery
Office delivery of physical materials is available as well. Following a search in the library catalog, choose Place Hold & use your University ID # (from the front of your ID card) & your library password to log in. (The first time, you'll need to choose set/reset password. The library staff do not keep track of this password.)

Under Pickup Location, select UD Faculty/Staff Office Delivery. Choose Submit.

Do not use this option if you do not have an on-campus office. This service is not available beyond the UD campus in Dubuque.
